Sister Fa
Sister Fa (real name Fatou Diatta, born 1982 in Dakar, Senegal) is a Senegalese rapper and anti-female genital mutilation (FGM) activist. She recorded her first demo-tape in 2000 when she was still a teenager and women still didn’t rap in Senegal. A mere year later, she was invited to perform at the Senegalese Hip Hop Awards. In 2002, she participated in a music compilation, Art City, with French and Senegalese rappers; and represented the Senegal at the Festival de rap feminine international in Guinea Conakry.
