Los Jubilados
In the months after the success of Buena Vista Social Club, nine veteran musicians announced to the world that "We are retired but not retired." They left their homes in Santiago de Cuba to form a son and bolero band because they considered, modesty aside, that they played better than the new musicians who were just breaking into the world of Cuban trova. They were right.
