Mr. Lin Youren, the famous contemporary Chinese Guqin master and the inheritor of the national intangible heritage. Native of Taiwan, he was born in Shanghai in 1938 and settled in Nanjing. He passed away at 9:40 pm on October 12, 2013, at the age of 75. Lin Youren started to learn the piano in 1956. He was enlightened by the Jinling school violinist Xia Yifeng, under the guidance of the Guangling school Liu Shaochun, and under the guidance of the Chinese music master Wei Zhongle, he graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a major in Guqin in 1963.
