Based in San Francisco, Seven Seas Music is a music licensing and discovery platform that helps media professionals quickly stream and license authentic music from around the world. Music supervisors, producers, and other creators can search for culturally diverse sounds to accompany their visual content via custom search tools and unique features that make discovering and licensing international talent fast, easy and streamlined. Users are able to purchase individual or blanket legal licenses for their favorite tracks in just a click and monies collected go back to the artists in their respective countries. We are thrilled to empower both sides - producers and artists - and deliver memorable audio-visual experiences to audiences by offering the most compelling music from emerging and established artists from around the world, representing over 30,000 songs by 3,600 artists from 155 countries.

The Company is overseen by two of the most respected names in music supervision and licensing, Brooke Wentz and Maryam Battaglia, who have a combined 100+ film credits to their names and also founded the prestigious Rights Workshop; a distinguished music supervision, licensing and creative clearance company.

Brooke Wentz

Brooke has over 25 years of experience in the music business as a music supervisor, rights executive, and the founder of two music companies - The Rights Workshop and Seven Seas Music. Prior to launching these companies, Brooke was the Music Director for ESPN, a rights consultant to TechTV, manager of A&R for Arista Records and a former radio host. Brooke has also produced numerous critically acclaimed recordings, won a Billboard Award and authored two books Music Rights Unveiled and Hey, That’s My Music! Because of her expertise, Brooke has been a guest lecturer at numerous events including CA Copyright Society, Electronic Entertainment Expo, Independent Filmmaker Project, and Billboard Music Conference.

Maryam Battaglia

Maryam is a music business professional whose experience spans work in entertainment and music law, publishing administration, licensing and IP clearance. For the last decade she has worked as a music supervisor at The Rights Workshop, where she has assisted hundreds of media producers negotiate and source creative material for their projects. In 2015, Maryam and Brooke co-launched Seven Seas Music, where Maryam overseas day-to-day operations. She is also co-author of Music Rights Unveiled, a step-by-step guide on navigating the complexities of music licensing.

Andre Comeau

Andre's publishing experience started in the 1990s as an artist with Warner Chappell and then as a Creative with Bug Music in the 2000s. Andre has been with Seven Seas Music since its inception in 2014 and has secured countless licenses for Film/TV, Advertising, Video Games and New Media.

Jose Luis Revelo

Jose is a Grammy-nominated composer and producer born in Colombia, raised in Panama and living in New York City. He has worked on records by renowned Latin stars including Marc Anthony and Thalia, eventually earning him a Grammy nomination for his work with Puerto Rican star Gisselle. After his scholarship at Berklee College of Music, he became an in-demand composer for a number of high-profile brands such as AT&T and Univision, lending his insight into Latin American culture. Jose has founded several successful start-ups in New York City, including the first music licensing platform offering content from Latin American indie acts. In 2013 he co-founded NOMAADA where he has written music for Google, AT&T, Disney, HBO and many others.

Steph Rushton

Born and raised in Canada, Steph started her professional career as an accountant and earned her CPA designation at Ernst & Young LLP where she worked for 7 years in both Calgary and San Francisco. Prior to this, Steph worked at Calgary’s most avant-garde music venue, The Hifi Club, where she worked with up-and-coming artists. After moving to San Francisco, Steph furthered her creative endeavors by throwing underground parties with friends, featuring artists such as Diplo, Bonobo, and Manila Killa. Steph also volunteers around the world with Accounting for International Development, where she takes the opportunity to discover local artists in her free time. Steph currently resides in Paris where she leads Seven Seas’ European initiatives.

Julia McKellar

Julia has over 5 years of experience working in social media and marketing for companies such as Year On, Bluewolf, First Amendment Gallery, and LEWIS Pulse. In addition to leading all social media activities at Seven Seas, Julia also volunteers her time in the design and marketing sector, most recently as an event photographer at the speculative design conference PRIMER and publishes her own marketing and travel blog called Now Nomad. Julia also recently completed an artist residency in Portugal where she created animated stories around the town’s local folklore.

Bill Cameron

With a lifelong interest in both music and technology, Bill spent several years working as a musician before earning his master’s degree in Music Technology from Indiana University. This led to a 13-year stint at video game behemoth, Electronic Arts, where Bill directed voiceover sessions and wrote music as part of the audio team for the popular game franchise The Sims. Outside of work, Bill continues producing a variety of music and enjoys exploring his home base of San Francisco.

Assim Gupta

Assim has over 20 years of experience in software development with companies such as Oracle, Apple, Google, Facebook and LinkedIn. Assim also has multiple certifications on various ERP/CRM systems and has designed and launched several products in areas like SaaS, eCommerce, mobile apps and enterprise applications. Assim is the CEO and Founder of Brown Deck Innovations which provides software consulting services for startups and leading technology companies. He is also the chair of the software committee of Keiretsu Forum, a global investment community of accredited private equity angel investors, venture capitalists and corporate/institutional investors.
